Energy Saving meetings in Uist

(November 13, 2009)

Dear All
I am writing to you on behalf of Sustainable Uist. In case you have not heard of the group, there is some background at the end of this email.

The group's first main task has been to work with Energy Saving Scotland to promote Home Energy Checks in Uist to identify needs and demand for insulation. Questionnaires are due to go out to all households in Uist this month.

The HEC will be a way in which all of those living in Uist can identify ways in which to make their homes more efficient, cut carbon emissions andsave money. Once the results of the survey come back, Sustainable Uist will work with Energy Saving Scotland to ensure that the energy-saving measures can be carried out at as low a cost to households as possible; in some cases there be will be grants available to cover the full costs of such measures.

The message needs to go out loud and clear: DON'T BIN THE HEC!
To help people to complete the check, Sustainable Uist/Energy Saving Scotland will be holding 3 informal, drop-in, ‘surgeries’ at the following venues: Carinish Hall (23 November), Balivanich Hall (24 November) and The Community Hall, Daliburgh (25 November).  People can come along and find answers to their questions any time between 7.30-9.00pm.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ALL OF YOUR CONTACTS. MANY THANKS!
